Can you laser-etch any dog breed?
+
−
Yes. Because each piece is created directly from your unique, uploaded photo, we can create a portrait for any breed, mixed breed, or completely one-of-a-kind pup.
What kind of photo works best?
+
−
Clear, well-lit photos taken at eye level are ideal. Sitting or standing poses work best. Avoid blurry photos, heavy filters, dark shadows, or images where important features are covered by grass, toys, blankets, or other objects.
Can I add my dog’s name?
+
−
Yes. You can choose to add your dog’s name to the front, personalize the back with a name and dates or a short message, or add a separate custom bone charm with your dog's name.
Can I add memorial dates or a short message?
+
−
Yes. The back of the pendant can include a name and date range or a short memorial message.
Will I receive a proof before my necklace is made?
+
−
Yes. A digital design proof is included with every order. Please review the portrait preview, spelling, dates, and layout carefully. Production begins once your proof is approved. To keep your order on schedule, if we do not hear back within 48 hours of sending your proof, we will proceed with production using the design shown.
Can I include more than one dog on a single necklace?
+
−
To maintain the highest level of clarity and photorealistic detail on our delicate 22mm pendants, each necklace is strictly designed for a single dog. We focus entirely on honoring one beloved pet per piece.
Can you create portraits for cats or other pets?
+
−
No, our studio is exclusively dedicated to dogs. We specialize entirely in canine features, fur textures, and expressions to ensure we deliver the absolute highest quality and most accurate dog portraits possible.
How much text can fit on the back?
+
−
Short text works best on our delicate 22mm pendants. A name, a date range (e.g., 2012–2024), a short phrase, or initials will etch the most clearly. Our order form has a strict character limit to automatically ensure your message remains crisp, clean, and perfectly legible.
Will the portrait fade or wear away?
+
−
No, the portrait will not fade, peel, or flake off during normal daily wear because it is laser-etched directly into the metal rather than printed on top. Because the artwork is part of the steel surface itself, the design can only be altered by deep physical scratches, harsh cleaning compounds, or sustained, heavy friction that physically rubs the metal smooth over time. Following our standard care instructions will keep the design flawless for years to come.
What is the necklace made from?
+
−
The necklace is crafted from skin-friendly 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. Gold options feature a high-performance 18K gold PVD coating for a premium, highly durable finish.
What size is the pendant and chain?
+
−
The circular pendant measures 22mm in diameter (about the size of a US nickel). The chain is 18 inches long and includes a built-in 2-inch extender, allowing it to adjust comfortably from 18 to 20 inches.
Is the necklace waterproof?
+
−
While 316L stainless steel is incredibly durable, we highly recommend removing your necklace before swimming, showering, or applying lotions and perfumes. This simple care protects the high-polish finish from harsh chemicals, chlorine, and mineral buildup.
How should I clean my necklace?
+
−
Gently wipe the pendant and chain with the included microfiber cleaning cloth to remove natural oils and fingerprints. Never use abrasive cleaners, chemical jewelry dips, or harsh polishing compounds.
Does it arrive ready for gifting?
+
−
Yes, absolutely. Your custom keepsake arrives beautifully nested inside a premium black drawer-style jewelry box, complete with a paw-print backing card and a complimentary microfiber cleaning cloth. It is entirely ready to gift to a loved one—or yourself.
Can I return or cancel a custom necklace?
+
−
Because each piece is uniquely personalized and made to order, cancellations are only available before our design work begins. Custom items are non-returnable unless there is a structural defect or a mistake made on our end, in which case we will gladly replace it.
